This high performance Choate stock was designed by Major John Plaster (US Army, Retired). He is considered by many to be one of the world's top authorities on long range, highly accurate shooting.
Will not fit new Savage Rifles with bolt release in the trigger guard or Savage rifles with detachable magazine. There will be an 3/16 gap under the safety on all the Savage Varmint, Tactical and Sniper stocks. The action should only touch on the V of the bedding block and back of the recoil lug. The gap at the back is normal for Savage actions when installed in these stocks.
Here are some dimensions that might help you identify your receiver length. These are the distances between the two receiver screws: Savage short action 4.275 or 4.411, long action 5.062

This stock is for 4.275 inch hole axis spacing. If you have the new Savage Centerfeed Model 10, the receiver screw holes will be 4.411 inches apart, and there is no Ultimate stock currently available for L.H Savage S. A. This stock is for 4.275 inch hole axis spacing only.
Comes with two cheek pieces: a regular height and 5/16" taller one.. The taller cheek piece is for the people who use the big objective lens scopes and then have to use the tall rings. You have the option of three locations, center, forward and back. You also have the option of reversing the cheek pieces if you are left handed.
Will accept Accutrigger.
Comes with a 1 inch thick rubber recoil pad. If you are shooting a big caliber rifle you will appreciate this cushy pad.
A bedding block that is milled out of a solid billet of aluminum is molded into the stock.
