This high performance stock for the Savage rifle was designed by Major John Plaster, who is considered by many to be one of the world's top authorities on long range, highly accurate shooting.

The wedge shaped forend is for push-pull elevation adjustment when shooting from a rest. The slots in the forend are for barrel cooling. Embedded in the wedge is a rail for attaching bipods, swivels, etc.

The narrow part between the forend and the receiver is stippled for grip. It's the balance point for one-hand carrying of your rifle.

The nearly vertical pistol grip is the most comfortable grip position for prone (laying down) and bench rest shooting.

The removable cheek rest comes in two different heights (included) and they have three mounting positions, so you can set up the stock to align your eye perfectly with your scope.

On the bottom of the butt almost directly opposite of the cheek rest is an adjustable butt pod

It screws in or out to adjust elevation up and down. The butt pad is removable and accepts spacers to adjust your length of pull.

Sling swivels are mounted on both sides of the forend and butt for flexibility when carrying or steadying your rifle with a sling. This stock is meant to work with your factory screws.

Finally, the skeletized butt allows a two hand hold when the forend is rested.

It is designed to free float barrels up to 1.25 inches. 

There will be an 3/16 gap under the safety on all the Savage Varmint, Tactical and Sniper stocks.

The action should only touch on the V of the bedding block and back of the recoil lug. The gap at the back is normal for Savage actions when installed in our stocks.

Will not fit new Savage Rifles with bolt release in the trigger guard or Savage rifles with detachable magazine.
